WHO WE ARE
ITD Egypt is a family-run Egyptian business with an international outlook. Established in 1988, with institutional roots reaching back to International Legal Consultants Egypt in 1977, the company has developed into a modern, multi-generational partner for international businesses working in Egypt.
We connect international objectives with the local judgement, relationships, people and follow-through required to turn plans into practical activity.

FOUNDER
Founder of ITD Egypt
A lawyer, parliamentarian, academic and public figure whose work connected institutions, communities and international perspectives.
Dr. Laila Takla co-established International Legal Consultants Egypt in 1977 with Saba Pasha Habachy, before establishing International Trade & Development as its sister company in 1988. She became the first female president of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Egyptian People’s Assembly and undertook pioneering work through the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Her career extended across law, parliament, academia, international cooperation, culture, human rights, education and public affairs. That breadth created a lasting belief in informed dialogue, institutional responsibility and the value of working constructively across borders.
Founder’s Quote
Regardless of where you stand, allow no place in your heart and mind for fanaticism, hate, and exclusion.
Her commitment to dialogue across communities, women’s advancement, education and public service continues to shape ITD’s culture: trust, institutional experience, international understanding, long-term relationships and the ability to work successfully across organisations and cultures.
INSTITUTIONAL HISTORY
Since our inception as ILC in the 1970s, our leadership has actively supported Egypt’s developmental journey. Today, ITD proudly carries forward this 50-year heritage of excellence, adapting to changing times while remaining true to our founding principles.
Our storied history of collaboration spans the eras of Presidents Anwar Al-Sadat, Hosni Mubarak and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. For decades, we have maintained a close, strategic partnership with our government, working hand in hand to drive national progress.
Our enduring relationship with the nation’s leadership stems from a shared conviction. We believe Egypt is the beating heart of regional innovation and a boundless landscape of opportunity. ITD remains dedicated to building on our multi-generational legacy of trust to help forge a prosperous, forward-looking Egypt.

PUBLIC-SECTOR ENGAGEMENT
Over the years, ITD has worked alongside Egyptian ministries, government authorities and public-sector institutions in connection with international projects, representation mandates and business activities across multiple sectors.

WHY ITD
International companies need more than a business that is merely based in Egypt. They need a local partner that can translate objectives into action, maintain continuity and remain accountable as work progresses.
Experience across changing industries, economic cycles and generations of international business in Egypt.
Market access is more than a contact database. It requires understanding organisations, maintaining conversations and building trust between stakeholders.
ITD can remain involved after analysis through representation, business development, local teams and implementation support.
Experience spans infrastructure, healthcare, energy, water, oil & gas, telecom, finance and business services.
An accountable Egyptian point of coordination that follows up, maintains visibility and escalates issues appropriately.
ITD complements the client’s specialist expertise with the local operating layer required to apply it effectively in Egypt.
VALUES
Four commitments connect ITD’s heritage with the standard expected of a modern international business partner.
We build trust through honesty, accountability, clear communication and responsible corporate governance toward clients, partners, employees and stakeholders.
Strategy creates value only when it is executed well. Our work is grounded in local knowledge, discipline, ownership and attention to detail.
We carry forward Dr. Laila Takla’s commitment to women’s advancement, dignity and equal opportunity through a culture that values contribution and respect.
We work across cultures, faiths and backgrounds with mutual respect, informed dialogue and a clear rejection of exclusion.
OUR ROLE, NOT OUR SECTOR
ITD does not position itself as the engineer, architect, banker, medical manufacturer, software developer or project owner. The international company brings its specialist capabilities; ITD provides the Egyptian operating layer around them.
ITD provides the Egyptian market, representation, people and execution layer around that expertise.
HOW WE ENGAGE
Engagements are shaped around the objective, required level of continuity and responsibilities of each party.
A defined market-entry, research, business-development, regulatory or local-coordination assignment with clear deliverables and responsibilities.
ITD acts as a dependable Egyptian point of presence, maintaining agreed relationships, communication and local activity.
A dedicated team or operational function works in Egypt as an extension of the international client through EOR, dedicated-team or BPO structures.
The relationship develops as the client’s position in Egypt develops, allowing an initial mandate to expand where there is a clear business need.
WHAT PARTNERS SHOULD EXPECT
A clearly defined scope and agreed responsibilities.
A named point of accountability and structured communication.
Practical local follow-through rather than advice that stops at the presentation.
Respect for the client’s own technical expertise, governance and approval process.
Transparent escalation when a decision, authority or specialist adviser is required.
A long-term view of the relationship rather than a transaction-only mindset.
WHAT COMES NEXT
Experience across multiple sectors has created a practical understanding of international business standards and the realities foreign companies encounter in Egypt. ITD provides the local judgement, coordination and execution capability that allows the client’s expertise to operate effectively.
